Greetings!
It's a pleasure to catch up with you again today... We hope this newsletter
finds you well and happy, and in the mood for some good news.
Last month
March was a very peaceful month on Keswick Island, and with the best wet season
we've ever had so far, mostly raining at night - just how we like it - it's a delight to see
the island looking so green and well maintained. We were lucky enough to go away
for Easter on a sailing trip with some friends, and we can certainly confirm
that the waters of Basil Bay are much cleaner than some of those on the
surrounding Whitsunday Islands. We're spoiled! See the photo below to the right.
What's New On Keswick Island
The Keswick Island Store opened its doors to the public, and provides visitors
with goodies, convenience foods, coffee, bait, ice and buggy hire. The
deck is a lovely place to sit with a coffee, and the views are 'to die for'. It
would be a particularly good vantage point in whale season too for an up-close
and personal whale watching experience. Speaking of whales, we're working on
some new 'whale watching' deals right now!
A new diving business will be starting up on Keswick Island in the coming
months, and they will also be providing introductory diving lessons. With 3 ship
wrecks in the vicinity of Keswick Island, it's a perfect opportunity for both
new divers and diving enthusiasts alike to get a closer look at the
surrounding coral, tropical fish and historical relics.
Coming Up
It's not too late to take advantage of our 3 Anzac
Day Deals on offer. It's
worthwhile joining us for our Anzac Day celebrations, because you're sure to
have loads of fun with other guests and locals. Normally we start the day off
with a short march in front of the Guest House, followed by the raising of the
Australian flag... Shortly followed by the raising of the glass in tribute to
those who have served and still serve in our armed forces. 2-up on the deck is
played throughout the day using a round-robin system where the winners progress
to a final exciting show down in the afternoon. The winner receives a medal, and
their name is added to our perpetual trophy.
During the day, we play Anzac Trivia games for even more prizes, and eat delectable
Australian foods. There's
always tons of fun and frivolity on Anzac Day at the Keswick Island Guest House.
It's one day of the year that you really shouldn't miss for a memorable outing. Click on the hot deals

our special offers and see
which one suits you best.

Greetings!
It's a pleasure to catch up with you again today...
Last month
February saw lovely weather on Keswick Island and we spent many days in the
water down at Basil Bay. Usually we have the whole beach to ourselves, which is
something guests love when they join us here for a getaway.
What's New On Keswick Island
March saw the new barge come to Keswick Island, which will mean more new houses
being built in 2012. A new hiking trails map has been published which brings
together all the walking trails -- some are new ones! They are all sign-posted,
and the one along the creek to the old Cycad tree will be a good one to take in
future. Take a look
here.

Greetings!
It's a pleasure to catch up with you again today. The
island is looking fabulous after some
overnight rain showers & the weather has
been glorious. The best February weather
ever!
Last month
The 26th of January saw us all at the Australia
Day Party, held down at the new
welcome cabana on the airstrip. We had
an egg & spoon race, The Australiana
Trivia Contest & The first ever Keswick
Island Thong Throwing Contest! The thong
throwing was won by excavator driver
Damo Chalmers with a mammoth 37.4 metre
throw! Check out our facebook page for
some great photos of the party.
What's New On Keswick Island
February brings golden mornings, sultry nights & cicada
song throughout the day to Keswick
Island. Lesley & Darryl Kane’s new house
is progressing well up on the hill, & we
have heard our friends at KDPL have
purchased a new barge to run between
Mackay & Keswick Island. More news on
the barge in the next edition.
Our tireless & very hardworking web mistress, Eva
Browne-Paterson, has been busy with our
website & we have our new photo gallery
to show you
here,
plus videos have been uploaded
here.
We think Eva has done a wonderful job!
If you need a website or an iPhone or
iPad app created, contact Eva at

Now for some very exciting news! Our friend & Airvan owner

Greetings!
Welcome to the first
Keswick Island Guest House newsletter. We hope to keep you updated with all the
happenings on the island & with all our special offers.
Last month
Wow! Christmas on
Keswick Island was a fantastic Day with
26 lovely people joining us for lunch on
the deck. We enjoyed a beautiful sunny
day & some yummy food including Moreton
Bay Bugs, BBQ Quail, & the soon to be
famous Christmas Pudding Ice Cream!
A special hello to our
Christmas Guests Nikki & Sara, Fiona & Colin,& Paris & Kim.The
annual Boxing Day Test was arranged once again, to be played down on the village
green near Basil Bay. I’m not sure much cricket was actually played, but
everyone had a great time and many oysters were eaten!
New Years’ Eve saw the Basil Bay beach party in full swing & most everyone on
the island came down to join in the fun.
What's New On Keswick Island
We finally have a sign
outside the Guest House! Our sign is
timber & has been expertly routed by
Swedish Tony who was staying on Keswick
for a while during his travels around
the world. A special thanks to Craig for
the timber!
When you next visit, you
will be able to take advantage of our new welcome cabana located at the
airstrip. We now have a concrete platform to park the Airvan & a path to take
passengers to a lovely shaded cabana with tables & chairs, so waiting for the
plane to take off or land will be a far more comfortable experience. All we need
now is a fridge for the cold drinks.

Coming Up

fabulous 5 day Anzac weekend.
Valentine’s Day is also a lovely occasion to celebrate on Keswick Island, & a
gift voucher could be just the thing for your sweetheart. See details at the
link on the right.
Until next month, keep smiling and stay well!

Lyn & Brian Kinderman
